Thanks again for the review copy of the MasterTemplate.
Combined with the sample files, I think the MasterTemplate would be very useful to almost any ArchiCAD user to learn techniques that may be new to them. Even if the customer were not to use the template in their practice, the educational value to them will far exceed any similarly-priced seminar.
One of the great things about ArchiCAD is that there are so many different ways of doing things. The MasterTemplate incorporates one solid set of Best Practices. There are aspects of it - pens, layers, layer combos, clones, hotlinked remodels, scheduling, publishing, master layouts - that I have philosophical (not technical) differences with. But, I would still recommend to all of my clients that they purchase a copy to learn from it and to then tune it to their needs after understanding alternative methods.
For new ArchiCAD users who have limited access to training, the MasterTemplate is a no-brainer. It is vastly superior to what comes in the box from Graphisoft. A new user will have their productivity boosted greatly by benefiting from the knowledge and experience that is incorporated into the template and sample files. Down the road, when they fully understand all of the nuances of ArchiCAD, they can think about tuning the template to what by then become their own Best Practices.
You and your team have made a great contribution to the ArchiCAD community by offering and supporting this product!
