Solid fills not showing on floor plan

Wall cut fills when set for any of the solid fills stay invisible on the floor plan but show on the section view. The vectorial fills show in all views. I tried turning on and off various layers with to no effect on this particular problem. Even though I haven't found it yet, I know there's a simple solution somewhere.

Easy solution: Trace Reference was set to "make fills and zones transparent".

OK, I've come across the same problem, when trying to make my "new" walls "poched" (That was a new term for me – I had to look that one up. Which wasn't easy – there's no such English word. Apparently, it's French: "poché" is the past participle of "Pocher", meaning "to sketch". So "pochéd" would be the past participle of the past participle…? Confused

Anyways, I've opened up a new instance of AC12, based on the standard template, and walls all show solid fills fine. It's just the MasterTemplate seems to force it not to show wall fills.

I don't have any trace references turned on/active, so those options don't appear.

Any further suggestions?

Thanks.

OK, solved it! So for anyone else with the same lack of knowledge as me…

I started selecting different "Model View Options" in the "Quick Options" palette, and the fills started to change. So that was a clue.

Despite me looking in what I thought were more obvious places (such as on the View menu!), I couldn't find anything. So, goddamn it, I just had to get out the Help! Yell

7 seconds later, I was informed that the secret to removing at least half an hour's frustration is in Document>Set Model View>Model View Options>Override Fill Display.

And then it was time to check out the MVOs that come with MT… Ahh, I see now… I was on the DRAFT'G DESIGN | DETAILING MVO, which has the Override Cut Fills > No Fill option turned on!

And now some more lights start to turn on, about the power of MVOs…combined with Pensets…: like why I don't need to define both a "new" and "existing" version of a composite structure, just to have a different fill show up in plans. Yet again the MT shows me how to be a little more efficient! (Boy, I know trial and error is the best way of learning, but it can be time-consuming!…How's that manual revision coming along, Eric? ;) ). I bought MT specifically to teach me and show me the best ways of using AC in practice (something that isn't in the Help!), and it seems to be doing a great job at that. Thanks yet again, Guys :D
