You'll need to go into the Schedule Scheme (click the button in the upper right of the schedule window) and then in the lower panel (I think it's called Parameters or Fields, it's below the Criteria panel) you'll need to find in the General section the Quantity line item and add it to the list of fields that are reported on. It will show up in the same row as the other fields, rather than below as a summary. The only way you get a summary total is when you have a number of items in a list, and the total is shown below, either the count of the number of items or the total sum of the items.

If you'd like further help on this, perhaps we can do this during a coaching call in the Best Practices Course. This subject will be covered later in the course, but could be addressed during a coaching call at any time.

Thanks. I am aware there is QTY in the scheme criteria. I'm just curious as to how to get that total per item as shown in the ITG video.

You have to list each item separately, even if they are the same, then you'll be able to get a summary total. There is a checkbox on the left side of the schedule settings window – near the top of the formatting area where you set font and size parameters – and you can uncheck the box that combines similar items into a single row. Then you'll see lots of items listed, and you can do a subtotal for each group of items that will sit below that group.

The subtotal option is one that you set in the Scheme Settings by clicking on the small icon column area (in the right hand side) to the right of the fields that are going to be included in the schedule – when you click, you'll see it cycle through a sigma symbol (indicating a sum total), a sigma with a number 1 (indicating a count of the number of records rather than a sum), and blank (no subtotal in this column).

Please read through the stuff in the ArchiCAD Help or the ArchiCAD Reference Manual (both available from your Help menu) for the section on schedules – this will help you understand the options.
